The LMT extends from Al Qbaiyat in the north of Lebanon to Marjaayoun in the south, a 380 km path in
altitudes ranging from 1,000 meters to 1,800 meters above sea level (between 3,300 and 5,500 feet).
The LMT showcases the exquisite cultural and natural heritage of Lebanon’s mountains and demonstrates
the determination of Lebanon’s communities to conserve this unique heritage. Through environmentally
and socially responsible rural ecotourism, the trail also helps to expand economic opportunities in rural
areas; mobilize volunteers, youth and community groups for a worthwhile cause; and promote governance
at all levels. (http://www.lebanontrail.org )
On Sunday the 5th of August, Blue Carrot Adventure Club organized a guided hike on one of the
LMT sections, from “Akoura” until “Mnaitra”. |
