Blue Carrot EventsHiking Trip to Wadi Quadisha
September 6th 2009 (Local Event)

The word "Qadisha" comes from a Semitic root meaning "Holiness"; consequently, "Wadi Qadisha" means
the "Holy Valley”. From the prehistoric periods to the Roman era, people lived in the caves and rock
shelters scattered all over the "Qadisha Valley". At the dawn of the Christian era, when the new Christian
religion was introduced into the valley, these caves and rock shelters were transformed into chapels,
hermitages, and monasteries. Generations of monks, hermits, and ascetics found asylum here.

For Sunday the 6th of September, Blue Carrot Adventures is organizing a guided hike in this marvelous
historical and ecological valley located in the North of Lebanon.

We will meet in the parking lot facing Apotre High School in Jounieh at 8:00 AM.

After having our breakfast, we will head by bus to "Blawza", where we will begin a one hour hike to
Quannoubine and the cave of Sainte Marina.

After our lunch break, we will proceed to "Mar Lichaa" passing by the most important monasteries of the
Valley.

The price of this excursion will be $ 25 including:

1)	Transportation by deluxe bus
2)	Professional guide fees
3)	Permanent assistance of our representative

All reservations must be done before Friday the 4rd of September on 03-553 007
